The Oaks Mollington - Case Study

The Oaks Mollington is a beautiful Golf Club positioned in a popular village just outside the city of Chester. The grounds and golf course are stunning, and extremely well cared for. Historically, poor management had left the golf club with a reputation that the club was still trying to shake off. The club needed to market itself to attract new members and increased usage of its excellent club house facilities – including a bar - which are ideal for events such as parties and weddings. Their main website was not designed to generate sales leads and despite good rankings on Google for some useful phrases, it was delivering nothing. Our brief was primarily to increase bookings for Weddings and Parties at the venue.

Strategy

The Oaks Mollington needed sales leads and it needed them as quickly as possible. Our strategy to achieve this was to create a Smart site, initially for the Wedding venue promotion, and if this worked, create a Smart page for the Christmas Parties promotion.

The purpose of a Smart site is to convert Pay Per Click traffic as effectively as possible to a sales lead or enquiry. The wedding venue Smart site emphasized the benefits of booking your wedding day at the Oaks, and made it as easy as possible to contact the Club and provide personal details which would then require follow up. ‘Don’t make me think’ is the philosophy behind the smart site; give me the reasons why I should contact you, and make it easy for me to make contact. This ‘keep it simple’ approach has really worked.
